Section 1
Who We Are
OneHourBinder ("OneHourBinder," "we," "us," or "our"), 1 E Chase St, Baltimore, MD 21202, offers homeowners insurance quotes, binders, and policies, through licensed insurance professionals, to homebuyers, borrowers, and homeowners, including those referred by mortgage loan officers and Realtors. We offer homeowners insurance in Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Washington, D.C.
This Privacy Policy describes how we handle information collected through our website, referral tools, forms, phone calls, and text messages (together, the "Site and Services"). It is part of our Terms of Use & Referral Partner Terms, and our SMS Terms explain our text-message program in more detail. By using the Site and Services, you agree to the practices described here.
Section 2
Information We Collect
From referral partners (loan officers and Realtors). When a partner signs up for a personal referral link, we receive:
- The partner's name, role, company or brokerage, and work email address, plus an NMLS or real estate license number if they choose to give one;
- The date, time, and IP address of the sign-up, and a record of their agreement to our Terms.
From borrowers and buyers directly. When you complete our quote request page, you give us your name, email address, property address, city, state, ZIP code, closing date, transaction type, target insurance budget, and any notes you choose to add. If you want calls or text messages, you also give us a mobile number and verify it with a one-time code. If you came through a referral link, we also record the code that identifies the person who referred you. If you agree to calls and text messages, we also keep a record of your consent: the exact wording shown, its version, your typed signature, the date and time, your IP address, and your device and browser type. If you agree to let us share your request status with the person who referred you, we keep a record of that choice too.
To prepare a quote. We may collect information needed for an insurance quote or policy, such as property details, claims history, and lender or mortgagee information. Some of this is nonpublic personal information that insurance law protects.
Automatically. When you visit the Site, we may collect your IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, and the date and time of your visit.
From others. We may receive information from insurance carriers about a quote or policy, and from our verification and communications vendors about whether a code or message was delivered.
Calls. We may record telephone calls for quality control and dispute resolution, as described in Section 5.
Section 3
Cookies & Tracking Technologies
The Site may use cookies and similar technologies to remember basic preferences and understand how visitors use it. Most browsers let you refuse or delete cookies; doing so may affect how parts of the Site work. [List any analytics or advertising tools you use, such as Google Analytics, GHL tracking, or ad pixels, with opt-out links.]
Section 4
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Email a referral partner their personal referral link and answer their questions;
- Respond to a quote request and contact a borrower or buyer the way that person chose (by phone or text only if they agreed, otherwise by email);
- Contact a borrower or buyer by phone or text message only after that person has agreed to it;
- Get quotes and arrange binders and policies through insurance carriers;
- Coordinate lender and mortgagee requirements for a referred transaction;
- Give the referring partner status updates, as Section 6 describes;
- Send verification codes and respond to questions;
- Keep records that show consent and meet insurance recordkeeping rules;
- Operate, secure, and improve the Site and Services; and
- Comply with the law and respond to lawful requests.
Section 5
Calls, Text Messages & Call Recording
Consent comes from you. A referring partner cannot give consent on your behalf. We call or text a borrower or buyer only after that person agrees on our quote request page and verifies their mobile number. If you don't agree, we contact you by email only. Agreeing is not a condition of getting a quote.
Text messages. Our SMS Terms describe the types and frequency of messages and how to opt out. Reply STOP to any message to unsubscribe, or HELP for help. We do not sell your mobile number or share it, or your text-message consent, with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes. [Confirm this is accurate for your business.]
Call recording. Maryland requires everyone on a call to consent to recording. If we record a call, we tell you at the start, and you may end the call if you do not agree. [Confirm your recording practice and disclosure script.]
Section 6
How We Share Your Information
We do not sell personal information. We share it only as follows:
- Insurance carriers. To get a quote or bind coverage, we share the relevant borrower or buyer and property information with one or more carriers.
- The referring partner. We share the status of a request (for example, that a quote is in progress or a binder is ready) with the referring partner only if the borrower or buyer agrees on the quote request page. We do not share a borrower's or buyer's other personal or insurance details with the referring partner unless that person agrees separately, or as the law allows. If the person does not agree, the referring partner is told nothing about the request.
- Service providers. We use vendors for our website, customer relationship management, email, text-message and verification services, and call or file storage. They may use the information only to provide services to us, and they must protect it.
- Legal and safety reasons. We may disclose information when the law requires it, to respond to legal process or regulators, or to protect rights, property, or safety.
- Business transfers. If OneHourBinder is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of it.
Section 7
Automated Tools & AI
We may use artificial intelligence or automated tools to help with tasks such as intake, document indexing, and data extraction. A person reviews AI-generated output, and we do not use these tools alone to decide whether you can get coverage; carriers make those decisions. Vendors that process your information for these tools may use it only to provide services to us. [Confirm with your actual tools and vendor terms.]
Section 8
Links to Other Websites
The Site may link to third-party websites, such as license-verification tools. We are not responsible for their privacy practices, and this Privacy Policy applies only to information collected through the Site and Services.
Section 9
Information Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your information, including limiting access to people who need it. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If we learn of a security incident affecting your information, we will notify you and regulators as the law requires. If you believe your information has been accessed without authorization, contact us using the information in Section 16. [Confirm your written information security program meets applicable state insurance data security requirements.]
Section 10
Data Retention
We keep information as long as needed to provide our services, keep accurate business records, and meet legal and regulatory obligations that apply to licensed insurance agencies. We keep consent records for as long as needed to show that consent was given. [Counsel to set retention periods for quote files, consent records, and call recordings.] When information is no longer needed, we delete or de-identify it.
Section 11
Your Choices & Rights

Access, correction, and deletion. Depending on where you live and the type of information, you may have the right to ask to see, correct, or delete your personal information. [Counsel to confirm the rights and request process for Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and D.C. residents.]
